Sony Xperia Pro: Get A Phone in A Camera

Social Media Plug-ins:

Photography has become an integral part of our lives. We are always taking pictures or making videos whether to document memories or just for fun. Having to carry a camera around for this can be stressful. Cameras can be bulky and take up a lot of space. But this is different when you have a phone that can do all this.

Sony Xperia Pro is a phone designed for professional photography and videography, released in 2021, on January 27. It has been equipped with specific features that will make your photos and videos come out as if you were using a DSLR camera. You have your phone and camera in the same place, minimizing the number of gadgets you have to carry on you at the same time.

Features that make the Sony Xperia Pro your next go-to phone include;

Display and Body
It has a 6.5 inches screen, and 4K OLED display technology. Resolution of 1644 x 3840 pixels, the screen is very wide and you get full coverage. Protected by a corning Gorilla Glass 6, a plastic back and a plastic frame. It weighs 225.1g.
The Sony Xperia Pro-I, a more recent product comes with a corning Gorilla Glass Victus and weighs a little less.

Processor and Storage
It makes use of Android 10 which is upgradeable to Android 12 and operates on a Qualcomm SM8250 Snapdragon 865, Octa-core (1×2.84 GHz Cortex-A77 & 3×2.42 GHz Cortex-A77 & 4×1.80 GHz Cortex-A55). The processor is fast enough for most of its internal functions but if the phone were to be used for highly demanding software like games, the processor might start getting hot. Considering that it was released in 2021 before the Gen8+ processor was available.

It has a storage space of 512GB ROM and 12GB RAM, quite enough space to handle your video and photos without any glitches or worries. It also has a MicroSD card slot for additional storage space

Camera
It has a triple back camera. 12MP f/1.7 24mm (wide), 12MP f/2.4 70mm (telephoto), 12MP f/2.2 16mm (wide). With a set of three cameras, it can take wide-angle photos, which are clear. The telephoto lens also comes with 3x optical zoom. Records video at 4K@24/25/30/60fps HDR and 1080p@30/60/120fps.
Asides from the introduction of a 1-inch wide sensor camera, there were a few changes from the former Xperia series in the newest Xperia Pro-I,
The Selfie camera comes with 8 MP, f/2.0, 24mm (wide). Records video at 1080p@30fps. This makes it perfect for influencers who need to take lots of selfie photos and videos.
Little advancements were made to the Xperia Pro-I, like Zeiss T* lens coating. It is also the only phone camera with 2.0 – 4.0 f, making it the ultimate phone camera.

Sony Xperia Pro-I

Battery
The phone comes with a non-removable Li-ion 4000mAh battery and a 21W adapter. Enough to power the phone for over 10 hours. The Sony Xperia Pro-I has Li-ion 4500mAh and a 30W adapter, increased battery capacity and less charging time.

However, a major disadvantage of the phone is its price, it costs about $1800. With this amount, there are a lot of contemporary phones that one can get to serve other purposes and photography functions quite well too. It was specially designed for professional photography which makes its camera app quite complicated for a novice with the extra features to have more control over the camera. But you’d very much enjoy it if you were a photographer and can handle a camera well.
All in all, the phone is worth giving a try, you might fall in love with it.
