“Our express intention is to deliver a hybrid financial and lifestyle package that has all the hallmarks and capabilities of the traditional big banks interspersed with the agility and creativity of the new wave of digital-minded banks.

Signature Bank is seeking to provide access to quality financial services to over 40 million Nigerians yet to be captured in the financial net, its Founder, Dr. Alex Otti, has said.

Leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI), disruptive technology and a resourceful team, he stated that the bank will provide seamless services to Nigerians from the comfort of their homes through digital channels.

He further said the bank is already working to open in several locations across Nigeria, including Port Harcourt, Aba, Sokoto, Owerri, Onitsha, Kano, Enugu and in other metropolitan cities around the country.

Speaking during the official opening of the bank and unveiling of its head office in Abuja, Dr. Otti said: “The journey began in 2017, driven by a yawning gap we identified, a vacuum created by repeated unresolved complaints, poor responsiveness, and unsavory customer experience encountered regularly from the banks we did business with.

“So, we set out to build a bank to challenge the status quo, that is future-forward, embraces change and impacts the lives of the people we serve. Statistics has it that more than 42 million people in Nigeria have no access to financial services. We see a big opportunity here.

“Our express intention is to deliver a hybrid financial and lifestyle package that has all the hallmarks and capabilities of the traditional big banks interspersed with the agility and creativity of the new wave of digital-minded banks.

“Above all, we have assembled a team of some of the best hands in the banking space today to champion and deliver on our promise.”

In his remarks, the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Adeniyi Adebayo, said: “My presence here today is to lend my support and to congratulate the shareholders of this laudable institution – Signature Bank. The name itself lends itself to what we expect of the institution.”

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of Signature Bank, Mr. Mutiu Sunmonu, added: “The goal is to give our customers the freedom to bank on-the-go so that they can do business with us from anywhere, anytime, anyplace.

“We are setting up unique looking branch locations in targeted cities across the country so that our customers have physical touchpoints to experience our different brand of service in-person.”
